Retired in February of 2007, Dan put in 30 plus years in Law Enforcement. Starting out with the City of Modesto as a Police Explorer Scout in 1972, Dan went on to work as a Reserve Officer for the City of Escalon, a Deputy Sheriff for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, and ultimately went to work for the City of Turlock in 1979. Dan was a supervisor for the last 16 years of his career, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Dan has been a certified firearms instructor through the FBI and California POST for over 28 years. After 30 years of fulltime law enforcement Dan has left the business to the “younger sheep dogs” and is now involved in fulltime training and teaching. Dan has taught at the Modesto Junior College, Alameda Sheriff’s Academy, Ray Simon Police Academy in Modesto, and numerous other locations, and is currently employed by the National Rifle Association as an adjunct instructor, traveling all over the US teaching new firearms instructors.
An area of concern for Dan is that there are several places where Military and Law Enforcement can learn and hone new skills, but very few “affordable” training venues for the civilian. Utilizing the range at River Oaks and various other firearms training facilities around the state, Dan is able to offer inexpensive yet high quality training to civilians in various weapons dynamics. Being a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, Dan believes every law abiding citizen has the right to keep and bear arms, but also shoulders the responsibility to know the laws, techniques, and tactics associated with bearing those arms. Trident Firearms Academy wants to help you achieve that goal.
