Glock Shooters “Mock Glock Competition Match”

There are many Venues out there for the handgun shooter.  One of them held at River Oaks Range is our monthly IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) matches. A very popular sport with several of our members is the GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation) competition matches.

As a way to get more people interested into shooting, also a way for GSSF Member Shooters to improve their skills and just have an excuse to shoot more. We are holding what we will call “Mock Glock Competition Match”.

Mock Glock” means these are NOT OFFICIAL GSSF MATCHES. We are just trying to resemble a GSSF match. Only GLOCK pistols may be used to maintain the Spirit of the Glock Shooting Sport.

Don Reponte our Match Director has volunteered to take the score sheets and total them up so we can post the results on this page. They will be in PDF file form when available at the left. Your scores can be compared to those posted on the official GSSF website to see how they stand against the real world. There will be no prizes or awards. Winners will only have bragging rights.

As always, River Oaks Range policy is women and kids under 18 years of age shoot free.

Actual GSSF information can be found on their website by clicking here. Our Mock Glock PDF file score sheets can be downloaded here. A Microsoft Excel Blank Score Sheet to aid in figuring up your score can be downloaded here.

We hope some day to hold an Official GSSF Match at River Oaks Range. Perhaps through our Mock Matches it will show Glock there is an actual interest in the Central Valley to hold one here. If you feel you would like to join GSSF, we ask you to please download or print out this Sign-up form here. It is marked to give recognition to River Oaks Range.

Course’s of Fire

There are three stages to the Glock Match. Layout and Design are approximate and at the discretion of the Match Director and limitations of the range.  Our range can safely handle 50 ft (16 yards) and if need be 60 ft (20 yards). All steel is placed beginning at 33 ft (11 yards). Our plate rack consist of 6, 8” plates. To help the match go smoothly for the shooter and those waiting to shoot, it is highly recommended you have at least 4, preferably 5 magazines for your pistol.
