Midvalley Defensive Shooters Classifier Match

A Classification Match is for anyone who wishes to establish an IDPA classification or a chance for current members to move up.  For anyone not familiar with the classification process this is a specifically design skills test that has been established by the governing body of the International Defensive Handgun Association.  The course of fire is a standards test. It is a  simple design that incorporates some of the basic skills that are normally infused in normal type of field courses; such as kneeling behind cover, engaging targets from cover and shooting on the move. The scoring calculated by the amount of time it took to complete the course and the total points down are added in to give the final score. There is no concealment garment required. The total round count is 90 but bring at least double the number in case for some unforeseen circumstance that the COF must be shot again.  The classifier is not open to just current IDPA members, a person may take the test first and then sign up to become one. We will have applications available on site. There will be a $5.00 fee for this Classifier shoot.

Although headquarters does not require people to be members to compete in sanctioned matches, it is highly encouraged.  The association is financed solely on the dues paid by the membership and would only be proper for anyone enjoying the sport should contribute their fair share.
