Membership Renewals were mailed out around the 1st of April. Renewal fees are due by May 31, 2008. All payments received after June 1, must be post marked by May 31, or your access code will be removed from the door lock. To reestablish your access after that time you will have to sign-up again for a New Membership Orientation. There are days left to renew your membership.

MONTHLY OPEN TRAP RANGE ON TEMPORARY HOLD
Under doctors orders,Dinnie has had to temporarilyCANCEL the open trap shoot during the month of May. Hopefully Dinnie will be able to reopen the trap facility again in June.
No IDPA Match this Month
Due to the numerous activities in May, there will be no Midvalley Defensive Shooters IDPA match at River Oaks.

Saturday, May 17th - River Oaks Range Rendezvous 9am - 5pm.. “A Frontier Living History Event”. It is a wonderful day to journey back in time and there experience the crafts, skills and lifestyle of days gone by where fur trappers, traders and Native Americans lived. These were the times of Lewis and Clark, when Mountain Men came to camp once a year to trade their furs and to buy supplies for the next year trapping in the wilderness.
Guests are admitted free of charge to witness live demonstrations of fire making with flint and steel, weaving on a loom, Hawk & Knife Throwing, black powder guns, tomahawks, field cannon and the malarkey of the colonial storyteller.

JAKES DAY EVENT (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics & Sportsmanship)
The Yosemite Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation invites you to the Fifth Annual JAKESDAY EVENT Saturday, May 31st. [Participants] will be limited to the first 50 entrants" so print out an event flyer and application HERE. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch and learn about the Jakes Day Event and maybe next year you may be interested in signing up.

Safety First Shooting Association (SFSA) operates River Oaks Range located on private property in Winton, California between Merced and Turlock.
Though membership is required to shoot at River Oaks during regular hours, numerous activities and “shoots” held at the range are open to the public.
The following events and classes afford many first-time and experienced shooters a friendly, safe place to enjoy the shooting sports: Jakes Youth Day, Living History Rendezvous, IDPA style events, Merced County CCW live-fire qualification, various women’s shoots, a planned postal shoot in conjunction with the VFW this fall, and NRA Certified instruction in pistol, rifle, shotgun, home firearms safety and the NRA “Refuse to be a Victim” course.
