*** WALL CONSTRUCTION BEGINS *** UPDATE!! Construction Closure Time Extended to 4:00pm
Wall construction for the upper backstop has begun. Once again the owner has requested the range be closed during the week days from morning until 4:00pm. Plan your range times accordingly to help this construction time remain safe for the workers.
*** TEMPORARY FIRING LINES ***
Temporary Firing Lines on all bays have been marked with yellow tape tacked to the wall. On Bay 1 all targets are to be placed BEHIND the firing line as you shoot from the stalls. On Bay 2 & 3, you need to shoot FROM or BEHIND the firing line. PLEASE adhere to these temporary firing lines while the range is under construction.

CalCCW Forum 2009 Range Day - August 29, 2009
We had to remove the sign-up form until we get a handle on how many are actually participating in the event. Sign-ups have come in so fast we cannot allow more attendees than we are able to safely instruct. Check back to see if the form is up again at a later time. Midvalley Defensive Shooters IDPA Match
Midvalley Defensive Shooters will hold their monthly IDPA match Saturday, July 18 at 9:00AM. If at all possible, please come early to help set up the shooting stages. You need to be there at least by 8:30AM to sign-in and be prepared to shoot.
Gun Safety is Number One at River Oaks Range. Midvalley Defensive Shooter’s monthly match attendance has grown beyond what we have ever imagined it would. Since River Oaks Range or IDPA membership is not required to attend our matches. The number of new, inexperienced shooters now attending has become a real safety concern. Unless you are a current classified member of a shooting organization such as IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, PPC etc. or have taken a formal tactical training session or POST course. We ask you to hold off participating in our monthly matches at this time. But encourage you to come out and watch to get an idea what IDPA is all about and talk to us. More information about IDPA can be found at the link on the left.

TRIDENT FIREARMS ACADEMY
Dan Gray of Trident Firearms Academy has been offering a few classes over the 2009 calendar year. The Sign-up Form is posted for any classes you may be interested in attending from his link at the left.
Safety First Shooting Association (SFSA) operates River Oaks Range located on private property in Winton, California between Merced and Turlock.
Though membership is required to shoot at River Oaks during regular hours, numerous activities and “shoots” held at the range are open to the public.
The following events and classes afford many first-time and experienced shooters a friendly, safe place to enjoy the shooting sports: Jakes Youth Day, Living History Rendezvous, IDPA style events, Merced County CCW live-fire qualification, various women’s shoots, a planned postal shoot in conjunction with the VFW this fall, and NRA Certified instruction in pistol, rifle, shotgun, home firearms safety and the NRA “Refuse to be a Victim” course.
